Firstly i would like to apologise because so long never update my blog. Actuaaly i just came back from my practical. Now i’m here to share some interesting experience i gained during my practical. I’m having my practical at Armada Urus Eng SDN BHD. Here are some info about this company…
ARMADA URUS ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. was established in 18th.November, 1999 and wholly Bumiputra-owned Company. All of their core staff has gained many years experience in ship repair environment and associated industry, be it onboard service or shipyard. As a small-sized engineering organization competing with large companies, the company is striving their way up to build reputation on services offered and takes great pride in delivering high quality workmanship right on time at a right price.Over the years, the company has been working hand-in-hand with Northport (Malaysia) Bhd servicing their loyal clients, the Jabatan Laut Wilayah Tengah, Polis Marin Wilayah Utara as well as Polis Marin Pelabuhan Klang and the APMM. This has allowed the company to offer their area of service with the following scope: MACHINERY All machinery including main and Auxiliary Engines, Pumps, Compressors, Cooler, Condensers Boiler and so on.
Hull - all kind of general hull repairs, superstructure, piping works, valves cleaning, blasting, painting and so on.
Electrical - Navigation Equipment, Electrical Motors, Steering Gears, Switchboard
During the industry training period, I have been assigned to a fixed position in Mechanical department, which is as a Total Preventive Maintenance ship in yatch, I have given fixed daily job in repair all part for ship. The work I had done is:
a. Removing and replacing items & equipment:
· Propeller Removal
· Cutlers Bearing Replacement
· Air Conditioner Seacock Valves Replacement
· Rudder Removal
b. Repairing and servicing items & equipment:
· Sea Water Strainer & Underwater Valves Services.
· Repair & Services on Jabsco Pump
· Service Fuel Tank Valve
· Service Main Engine Seacock Valves
c. Installing & Fitting items & equipment:
· Fit in Repeater Mounting Brackets.
· Fit in Sea Water Cooling Piping for Heat Exchanger.
· Fit in Lube Oil Tank.
· Fit in Lube Oil Tank Valve.
· Fit in Propeller to the Shaft
d. Fabricate items & equipment:
· Dock Preparation.
· Fabricate Fire Extinguisher Hold Bracket.
· Create a Special Tool to Release Propeller Nut.
